Brad Robinson returned to the winner’s circle in the US as he led his college side to victory in the Donald Ross Intercollegiate Championship.
Based at Westerhope Golf Club when he’s at home, 21-year-old Brad was in great form at Mimosa Hills Golf Club in North Carolina – shooting rounds 69, 69 and 67 to win his second individual collegiate tournament and lead the Lenoir-Rhyne University team to the Donald Ross Intercollegiate title with a team score of 842.
Brad was backed up by teammate Matthew Raybould (71-72-66) just four shots behind him while two more Bears – Carlos Lasso de la Vega Jessen and Georg Hartmann – finished in the top 25 to help seal the team’s victory.
“It’s been a while since I’ve won,” said Brad, “This is definitely the biggest tournament I have won, and it’s the best feeling in the world to win both the individual and team titles. We need to keep believing in ourselves. We’ve proved we can do it and we just need to keep playing well.”
Brad, who represents Close House and Westerhope when he’s at home, is in his final year at college. A proven winner, he has two victories over the Old Course at St Andrews while his first college win came at the Richard Rendleman Men’s Golf Invitational at Salisbury Country Club – where he shot a four under-par total of 138.
