The Bishop Auckland Golf Club men’s team lifted the Teesside & District Union of Golf Clubs league trophy after topping division one.
The Bishop team led the top division with 220 points from their 14 matches – beating 2024 champions Teesside by 20 points. Meanwhile, Barnard Castle topped division two and will be promoted for 2026 alongside Darlington. The Middlesbrough Golf Centre team topped division three to earn promotion to the second tier, where they’ll be joined by Cleveland in 2026.
The Bishop Auckland team will go on to represent the Teesside league in the Dixon Cup at Whitburn on Sunday September 21. The event brings together the winning teams from the five North East men’s leagues, with the best six scores from seven players counting towards each team’s total.
