Bishop Auckland’s men’s team lifted the Dixon Cup at Whitburn – earning them the title of best in the North East for 2025.
The annual event brings together the winners of the five men’s leagues in the North East, and Bishop Auckland – the Teesside league champions, represented by Jamie Birkbeck, James Glenn, Michael Henson, Wayne Hewitt, Graham Milne, Kevin Hamilton and Finley Hall – topped the leaderboard with a team total of 427 (best six scores from seven). Newcastle & District Golf League champions City of Newcastle finished seven shots back in second place.
City of Newcastle’s Andrew Minnikin led the individual scoring with a five under-par round of 65 – a new course record at Whitburn following major changes to the layout in recent years.
