City of Newcastle’s Andrew Minnikin topped the leaderboard in the Newcastle & District Golf League’s Players Championship at Gosforth Golf Club.
Andrew led the field with a three under-par round of 66 as clubmate and defending champion Phil Ridden finished second on two under-par.
Meanwhile, the City of Newcastle team – featuring Andrew, Phil and Karl Mosson – took home the team title with a 15-shot win; and Backworth’s Andy Hunter won the nett title with a four under-par score.
