Abby Roper lifted the Cumbria County Ladies Golf Association Championship trophy for the second time after beating defending champion Katie Sibley in the event’s final at Silloth on Solway.
Seascale-based Abby – who won the event in 2023 and went on to win the Northern Golfer Ladies Champion of Champions – beat Carlisle-based Katie – who won the event in 2019, 2022 and 2024 – 3&1 in the final.
Abby qualified for the matchplay rounds in third place and went on to beat Sue Cotter in the quarter-finals and overcome Rebecca Wildey in the semi-finals to setup the final with Katie.
