Abacus Sportswear has unveiled two new outerwear pieces for golfers facing windy conditions on the course.
Designed with cutting-edge fabric technology, the Lanark Stretch Wind Hoodie and the Kingsbarns Hybrid Hoodie offer performance features that help golfers maintain warmth, comfort and flexibility – even when the wind picks up.
“The most important thing for windproof golfwear is that it doesn’t interfere with the swing,” said Chris Mattsson, chief design manager at Abacus Sportswear. “Both the Lanark and Kingsbarns hoodies are crafted with lightweight, stretchy materials to ensure unrestricted movement. Comfort and temperature regulation are also key, which is why we’ve used moisture-wicking fabrics that keep golfers dry inside while shielding them from the wind.”
The Kingsbarns Hybrid Hoodie (RRP £120) combines the style of a sweater with advanced protection from the elements. The front and back are constructed from a windproof, water-repellent three-layer softshell fabric, while the sleeves and shoulders are made from soft, stretchy fleece which is brushed on the inside for extra comfort. With a fixed hood, half-zip front and zippered side pockets, it comes in grey/navy and forest green/royal blue colourways.
Meanwhile, the Lanark Stretch Wind Hoodie (RRP £90) features an all-over transparent print and block colour combination along with a half-zip front, zippered side pockets, and elastic binding at the sleeve ends and bottom hem for a comfortable fit. Made from PFC-free recycled polyester, it is windproof and water-repellent, and is available in green/blue/orange or navy/grey/white colour combinations.
