Wynyard sweep Durham girls titles

Wynyard Golf Club took home a hat-trick of titles at the Durham County Girls Junior Championship.

Staged at Whitburn Golf Club in terrible weather, the 36-hole main event was won by 20-year-old Kitana Hollins with a two-round total of 151. Amy Sutheran, 19, took the runner-up prize as Molly Nisbet, 13, won the nett event with a score of 138.

Meanwhile, the 18-hole stableford competition was won by Bishop Auckland Golf Club’s Cassidy Hamilton with 37 points. Lilly Davies (Durham City) finished in second place with 36 points, narrowly beating Abbie Brown from Wynyard on countback.
