Worldwide recognition for entertainer
David Edwards can look back on another amazing year for his trick shot show after a busy finale with dates in America, the Middle East and Europe.
The former Catterick Garrison and Richmond pro, who is also an ambassador for Close House, took his show to Scotland for the World Hickory Open Championships at Panmure and then moved on to Turkey to host and perform at the Beko Classic.
That was followed by appearances in Florida at the Callaghan Tire Charity Pro-Am, the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai for the sixth time, and a busy year comes to an end at the Gloria Hotels and Golf Resort at Belek in Turkey where Edwards stages a New Year’s Day Show.
Destinations during the year have also included the Made In Denmark European Tour event at Himmerland and the Nikis Junior Tournament at Golf Nazionale in Rome as well as visits to China, Switzerland, Bulgaria and France.
During the Shenzhen International tournament in China, Edwards was joined by veteran Spanish ace Miguel Angel Jimenez, who is one of the favourite impersonations in his show.
Edwards, a former European Tour pro, has now performed in more than 50 countries at some of golf’s biggest events and is acknowledged as the leading golf show entertainer. He displays his skills with his selection of unusual clubs – including his famous two-metre driver – along with ever-witty commentary.
Besides Jimenez, Edwards impersonation of Bubba Watson has proved particularly popular with fans and fellow professionals.
