The 2019 Mizuno Durham County Golf Union Juniors Order of Merit, formerly the Race2Rockliffe, will take place across the county before heading to new Grand Final venue Wynyard Golf Club in September.
The Mizuno DCGU Junior Order of Merit uses selected junior opens and DCGUJ events throughout the season as qualifiers towards the central order of merit. The highest placed players in gross and nett categories at the end of the summer will be invited to compete at Wynyard Golf Club on Saturday September 14 to become the 2019 Mizuno DCGU Junior Order of Merit champion.
There are 16 events in this year’s order of merit, starting with Blackwell Grange’s Junior Open on Monday April 8 and the DCGUJ George Crawford Cup at Hartlepool on Monday April 15.
Three events follow in May – at Darlington (May 6), Billingham (May 27) and Heworth (May 29). In June and July the events move on to junior opens at Brancepeth Castle (June 2) and Barnard Castle (June 30) before Consett (July 7), Boldon (July 13), Ryton (July 20) and Houghton-le-Spring (July 22). The final run of events include junior opens at Tyneside (August 5) and Beamish Park (August 12), the DCGUJ Jack Golightly Trophy at South Moor (August 15), Durham City’s junior open (August 26) and the DCGUJ Autumn Meeting at Dinsdale Spa (August 29).
The order of merit is open to junior affiliated club members in County Durham with a CONGU handicap (max 28 for boys and 36 for girls). For more information contact initiative manager Jordan Pout, email juniors@durhamcountygolfunion.co.uk
