High Gosforth Park’s Candy Brown lifted the Northumberland Veteran Ladies County Championship trophy after a hard-fought three days at City of Newcastle Golf Club.
Candy led the 18-hole qualifying with a round of 81 to win the Lou Stewart Salver, then went on to reach the final with wins over Caroline Armstrong, Helen Cooper and Susan He before triumphing 4&2 over Gosforth’s Lynne Liddle in the final to take the Championship Salver.
