Bill Simpson, president of Skipton Golf Club in 2023, has presented cheques totalling £1,300 to three charities following fundraising during his year in office.
The money was raised through raffles, competitions, the sale of the president’s reserved parking spot, and individual donations from members.
Bill is pictured above with Denise Braham, manager of Skipton’s British Heart Foundation shop, which received a cheque for £800. Two other donations, each of £250, have been made to Take Heart, a charity for patients at Leeds General Hospital, and Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Bill said: “The charities chosen are all close to my heart and deserve all the support they can get. I had a great time as president. Many thanks must go to all members who contributed.”
