Sergio Garcia lifted his 12th European Tour title on his 2017 debut at the Dubai Desert Classic in February, seeing off a chasing pack which included Englishmen Tyrell Hatton and Matt Fitzpatrick, and Henrik Stenson.

His wire-to-wire victory saw the Spaniard lead the field in greens in regulation (81.9%) and put together the best driving stats – second in driving accuracy (69.6%) and third in driving distance (305 yards). His 19 under-par total gave El Nino his first finish inside the top 10 in the event too and included a three under-par closing round at Emirates Golf Club.
