The NE/NW PGA schedule is in full swing and professionals from across the region have topped the leaderboards in the early events.
Graham Cox (Lymm), Martyn Jobling (Morpeth) and James Harper (Wynyard) each shot rounds of two under-par to share top spot in the Penrith Pro Am. James Wilkinson (Penrith Golf and Footgolf Centre) and Craig Goodfellow (Carlisle Golf Centre and Driving Range) finished a shot further back with rounds of 68.
In the WaterAid Pro Am at Linden Hall, Simon Robinson (Sharpley) went it alone with his round of 68 good enough to claim a solo place at the top of the leaderboard. There was however a three-way tie for second place as Goodfellow, Michael Pilgrim (Bishop Auckland) and Jonathan Richardson (Hexham) finished a shot further back with their rounds of 69. Meanwhile, in the Hexham Golf Club Pro Series event, Simon Calvert took the honours with a round of 67 and climbed the order of merit to second place. He finished one clear of home professional Andy Paisley, who maintained his position at the top of the NE/NW PGA Order of Merit after the fourth event of the season. Northern Golfer tips pro John Harrison finished third with a round of 69.
