Hexham Golf Club professionals Andy Paisley and Jonathan Richardson have expanded the golf studio above the pro shop at the Northumberland club – enhancing their indoor putting coaching and fitting offering in partnership with Odyssey Golf.
The PGA professionals have created a new putting green in their old workshop space, while retaining their separate full swing coaching and club fitting space.
The new putting studio is home to SAM PuttLab, PuttView, Vertex motion sensor, and Quintic technology as well as GASP video software. There is also a custom putting green with flat, 1.5-degree and 2.5-degree sloped sections. Meanwhile, the workshop space has equipment to adjust any putter’s loft, lie or swingweight during lessons and fittings.
“The new studio space gives a totally new dimension to what we can do for players across coaching and fitting,” said Andy – who coaches international players including Lee Westwood, Dean Burmester and Connor Syme as well as North East-based professionals including Jess Baker, and several elite amateurs.
“The space draws on my experience working with players out on tour, and Jonny’s work with players here and his passion for custom fitting, as well as all the experience of the Odyssey team – who have been so supportive and were keen to develop the space with us to showcase their products and provide a new venue for their staff players to come and be fitted.
“The new setup offers us so many more coaching opportunities and we’ve already seen how it allows us to test and develop players so much further.”
“We spent a lot of time developing what the space would be and how we’d use the best technology,” added Jonathan. “We’re also excited to be able to offer some exciting equipment options which are normally not available to test in person – thanks to our partnership with Odyssey.
“The feedback from players – from those who play on tour to club golfers coming in for a lesson or a fitting – has been brilliant.
“We really wanted this to be a space that has everything, and we’re keen to use it to its full potential.
“Putting is a huge part of the game, and one which can be easy to overlook. That said, more players are investing their time into improving their skills with the club they use the most in every round – and we have the setup to help them in any way they need.”
