Martyn Jobling returned to fine form to top the leaderboard in the second North East & North West PGA Pro Series event of the season at Almouth Golf Club.
Bedlingtonshire-based Martyn led the field of 42 professionals with a three under-par round of 68 on the Northumberland coast as Prudhoe’s Andrew Scrimshaw finished in second place, and Simon Robinson and James Wilson tied for third on one under-par.
After two events in this year’s Mizuno Order of Merit, Martyn it tied at the top of the table with Brampton winner Garrick Porteous, with Simon in third place.
The Pro Series continues in April and May with 18-hole events at Cleveland, Bedlingtonshire, Rockliffe Hall and Hexham before the season’s professional tournaments get underway with the Northumberland & Durham Open at Prudhoe on May 31.
