Ken Ferrie wins NE/NW PGA Championship

Ken Ferrie returned to the winners’ circle at Middlesbrough Golf Club, outlasting the field of the best professionals from across the North East and North West in high temperatures to win the NE/NW PGA Championship.

Three-time DP World Tour winner Ken posted rounds of 70 and 68 for a two under-par total as Tim Dykes and Phil Waugh finished in a tie for second place on one under-par. Josh Fox finished in solo fourth, while Simon Robinson and Andy Scrimshaw shared fifth place.

With the win, Ken moved into third place in the circuit’s season-long Mizuno Order of Merit as Tim maintained his position at the top and David Clark held on to second place.

The Mizuno Order of Merit comprises the early-season Pro Series and the circuit’s 36-hole professional tournaments. Next up is the Tour Championship at Brancepeth Castle on September 19 before the season-ending Matchplay Championship at Slaley Hall.
