Solomon, competing in the U12 boys category, posted a nett score of 71 in cold conditions on the Colt Course as juniors from across the north collected prizes in their categories. 2017 winner Henry Joynson (Close House) led the U15 boys while George Mason (Wath) won the boys U18 title.
In the girls’ events, Wearside’s Millie Hixon won the U12 event, Faye Wheatley (Gosforth Park Ladies) won the U15 title and Libby Kilbride (Dore and Totley) won the U18 title.
Close House managing director Jonathan Lupton said: “Congratulations to all our winners this year, thank you for competing on a tough day and producing such superb golf.
“Our aim at Close House is to nurture golfers from beginners through to the highest level and thanks to our sponsors Lookers and PING, the Junior Masters has become a key part in that progression for juniors of all ages.
“This event was the idea of our attached professional Lee Westwood as part of the British Masters in 2017 and thanks to the support of Lookers and PING, we look forward to welcoming more talented youngsters back to Close House for the event in the future.”
Qualifying events for this year’s Junior Masters were held at Carlisle, Durham City, Close House (Filly), Middlesbrough, Bradford and Worksop with 60 juniors competing for the title at Close House.
