Professionals from around the North took home top finishes in pro ams at Close House, The Northumberland Golf Club and Prudhoe Golf Club in May.
Mathew Webb (Bedlington) and Craig Goodfellow (Carlisle Golf Centre) both returned three under-par 66s to share the Close House Pro Am over the Lee Westwood Filly Course. Barnard Castle’s Darren Pearce, and Northern Golfer columnists and Matfen Hall pro John Harrison shot rounds of 67.
In the WaterAid Pro Am at The Northumberland Golf Club, Richard Robson-Crosby (Ponteland) and Martyn Stubbings (Rockliffe Hall) both compiled superb rounds of five under-par (67) to share the winner’s cheque. Newbiggin’s Colin Ferguson and Goodfellow tied for third place, two shots back on three
under-par.
Meanwhile, David Clark (Morpeth) and Michael Pilgrim (Bishop Auckland) shared top spot at Prudhoe Golf Club with rounds of 66 in the Prudhoe GC/Breast Cancer Pro Am.
The season continues this month with events at Ramside Hall, Whickham, Middlesbrough, Billingham and Teesside.
