High Gosforth Park’s Iain Cunningham and Alan Thompson started the season with victory in the Hadrian Golf League’s Anniversary Cup at Slaley Hall.
Iain and Alan came out on top in the event, which brings together the league clubs’ captains and vice-captains, with 41 points – beating the teams from Slaley and Stocksfield on countback.
Meanwhile, league president Les Palmer and secretary Jude Furniss won the committee prize, and Tyneside’s Ian Stoddart won the nearest the pin.
