Heworth’s Jonathan Scott is the new Durham County Junior Matchplay champion following his 4&2 win over South Moor’s Jake Lewis in the event’s final at Seaham.
Jonathan’s progress to the title was nearly upended in the semi-finals, when he was taken the third extra hole of a sudden death playoff by Hobson’s Jay Emmerson – though he came through to reach the final and complete a superb victory.
