Hats off to our clubs

The William Hunt Trilby Tour will return to the North this season with Northumberland Golf Club, Carus Green and Kirbymoorside Golf Club hosting Regional Championship events in June.

The national tour for amateur golfers, which is shown weekly on Sky Sports, returns for the 10th year in 2017, with its unique format remaining – in which players compete in 18-hole stableford events before the top four progress to a three-hole shootout to decide the champion.

Players can qualify for the Regional Championships through qualifying opens at each club. From those events the top players will go on to compete in each Regional Championship – with the top 10 in these events making it through to the International Grand Final at Hull Golf Club on August 31.

Trilby Tour director Toby Morgan said: “With the 2017 Trilby Tour being our 10th anniversary we were looking for some fresh, forward thinking and ambitious clubs in areas of the country that we haven’t visited in the past. We look forward to reaching out to, and introducing, new players to our Tour at some fantastic new courses.”
