Entries welcome for North of England Under 14 Junior Strokeplay Championship

The 10th edition of the North of England Under 14 Junior Strokeplay Championship will take place at Beamish Park Golf Club July 26-28.

With a list of past winners including Barclay Brown, Max Hopkins, Joshua Hill, Joshua Berry, Harrison Sewell, Hannah Golding and Amelia Wan – the three-day, 54-hole event has a track record of producing highly talented winners.

The tournament atmosphere is highly regarded by England Golf – with scoreboards, starters and on-course spotters, and World Ranking points available.

There are prizes for the best gross, nett, under-12 player and the best team – with a handicap limit of 15 for boys and 18 for girls.

Entry forms, and terms and conditions are available at www.northofenglandu14golf.co.uk. The entry fee is £30, and a free practice round is available the day before the event.

The closing date for entries is July 17, and the first day draw will be posted shortly after entries close.

Competition chairman Guy Carr said: “We haven’t seen a northern winner for a while, so it would be great to see the trophy retained in the North East this year.”
