England Women win silver at European Team Championships

The England Women’s team, featuring Northumberland’s Jess Baker and Rosie Belsham, took home the silver medal at the European Team Championships in Finland.

The team of Lottie Woad, Charlotte Heath, Patience Rhodes, Rosie, Jess, Caley McGinty and performance manager Becca Hembrough (pictured from left to right) lost out to Spain 4.5-2.5 in the event’s final – narrowly missing out on a hat-trick of wins in the event.

Meanwhile, the England Boys won a bronze medal in Geneva, Switzerland with an emphatic 5.5-1.5 victory over Germany.

There was disappointment for England’s men in their bronze medal match, as they were beaten by Ireland at Royal Waterloo Golf Club in Belgium. Meanwhile, England’s girls ended their European Team Championship campaign with a closely fought battle against Ireland, coming out on the wrong side of a 3-2 scoreline.
