iGolf – the only provider of a Handicap Index for non-club members in England – has been named Fan Engagement Award winner (Governing Body) at the International Sports Convention awards.
Recognising the initiative’s success in engaging new audiences and accelerating growth within the amateur game, the award caps a standout year for iGolf, which welcomed nearly 40,000 new subscribers in 2025, including a 34% increase in female golfers.
Launched to modernise how golfers connect with the game, iGolf has become a key driver of participation, providing golfers with flexible opportunities to track their progress and make social rounds more competitive.
The ISC Award follows iGolf’s Sports Innovation Award win at the 2024 Sports Business Awards.
Claire Hodgson, head of iGolf and iPlay at England Golf, said: “This award is a brilliant recognition of the work that’s gone into making iGolf accessible and genuinely valuable to today’s golfers. With more than 72,000 iGolfers now subscribed and 24,000 iGolfers having transitioned into golf club membership, it shows there is a real appetite for new ways to engage with the game, and a pathway for them into club membership.
“iGolf was created to complement the club system, while opening doors for those who require other ways to access the game, and we’re delighted to see its impact being recognised as part of the wider growth of the amateur game.”
