Elite move for JJ Vallely

JJ Vallely, coach to some of the region’s best young golfers and the England Golf girls’ regional squad, has joined Elite Golf Academies and is set to be based primarily at Northumberland Golf Club.

JJ, who joins Elite from Matfen Hall, will coach the incredibly successful regional girls’ squad – which has produced 10 England internationals under his coaching – as well as his girls’ and boy’s Futures squads at Northumberland.

“While I’m certainly sad to be leaving Matfen after 28 years, I’m excited by the opportunities which joining Elite and being based at Northumberland Golf Club will present,” said JJ.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to further enhance what I’m doing as a coach. It is also a chance to make use of the superb facility which Steve Bainbridge and the Elite team have created at Northumberland, along with the excellent facilities which the club has in place.

“Helping people improve their golf is what gets me out of bed in the morning and I’ve got no doubt Elite and the golf club will help me do that.”

Having started his career as a PGA professional in 2000, JJ has more than 20 years coaching experience and was keen to continue his focus on teaching and developing golfers.

“The conversations with Steve and the club have all been incredibly positive and I’m looking forward to the opportunities this new position presents. I’m a coach, that’s my passion, and to have the support of a business and club in delivering the best coaching I can to all my students is perfect for me.

“I’m sure my students and squads will love what Northumberland has to offer, with many players who’ve come through the system having played there over the years, and I’ve got no doubt everyone involved will continue to improve and be inspired to work hard there.”
