Eaglescliffe’s men’s team are on their way to the English Men’s Champion Club event after winning the Durham County Clubs Championship at Consett & District Golf Club.
Harry Caygill, Ryan Elliott and Tom Smith shot a combined score of 215, two over-par, to finish four shots ahead of Bishop Auckland in the event, which was shortened to 18 holes due to heavy rain.
Meanwhile, Boldon’s Gavin Nesbit shot he lowest individual score of the day, a superb four under-par 67.
