David Clark leads wire-to-wire to retain NE/NW PGA Portugal Pro Am title

Morpeth’s David Clark returned to Portugal and found the same form which saw him win in 2022 – leading the tournament over all four days to successfully defend the North East & North West PGA’s Portugal Pro Am title.

David led the field on day one with an eight under-par round at Quinta Do Lago’s Laranjal course before shooting a four under-par round at the North course on day two. A three under-par score on day three on the Laranjal course gave him a three-shot lead, which he converted into victory by once again leading the scoring on day four on the South Course with a five under-par round.

David led the professional scoring on 20 under-par in the PROBIO Energy-sponsored event as Craig Goodfellow finished five shots behind in second place, and Tim Dykes finished third.

The team event was won by Team Will Marklew – with Will teaming up with Ian Curry, Phil Wynne and Mark Burdett for a 75 under-par total of 363 points.
