Daniel Hayes wins Seaton Salver

Teenager Daniel Hayes promised he’ll be back to defend the Seaton Salver in 2024 after clinching his first order of merit title.

The Bramhall-based 16-year-old was in great form at Seaton – posting rounds of 69 and 72 to lead the field by two shots from Brancepeth Castle’s Daniel Fox (73-70).

Cheshire county player Daniel was more than happy with his first victory in an event at this level, and his good start in the tournament – which counts in both the Yorkshire and Durham orders of merit. He intends to return to Seaton in October in pursuit of the North of England Open Amateur Championship trophy.
