Cumbria’s men’s team will represent the north in the England Golf Men’s County Finals after winning the Northern Counties Men’s Qualifying Championship at Ulverston.
The Cumbria team – Kieran Waters, Luke Quint, Will Coxon, Will Bowe, Kerry Morrow and Jack Hunter – shot a 12-round total of 863 (11 over-par) to win by just one shot as Lancashire finished second. Yorkshire (30 over-par) finished a distant third.
Kieran led the individuals scoring with a 36-hole total of four under-par, while Northumberland’s Phil Ridden finished second with a three under-par score.
Cumbria will represent the region in the Men’s County Finals at Whittington Heath on September 27-29.
