The Consett & District Golf Club’s men’s team won the North Durham Union of Golf Clubs Teams Championship at Beamish Park – finishing three shots clear of Durham City as the host club finished a further shot back.
Boosted by two solid rounds of 72 from John Kennedy and James Newton – and backed up by a round of 73 from Luke Bonser and a 76 from Ian Rooney – Consett’s four best scores totalled 293 to take the title.
Beamish Park’s Adam Mottershead picked up both the individual gross and nett trophies with his round of 68 (nett 66).
