The Northumberland Golf Club’s Chris Hilton will serve as captain of The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews in 2018/19.
Chris (pictured) has been nominated as captain by the past captains of the club and will begin his year in office with the traditional driving-in ceremony on the first tee of the Old Course on Friday, September 21.
Born in Newcastle, Chris has been a member of The R&A since 2000.
Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, Chris is a past captain of The Northumberland and is a member of Bamburgh.
