Westerhope’s Cameron Thoburn added a second county title to his 2023 successes at Seahouses Golf Club – lifting the season-ending North & South Trophy.
Part of the county’s boys’ and men’s teams this season, Cameron added to his success in the Fenwick-Smith Trophy at Prudhoe by topping the leaderboard at Seahouses with a round of 67. Close House’s Andrew Griffiths finished second, one shot back, as Newcastle United’s Michael Burrow was third.
Following the event, the leading players in this year’s Northumberland Order of Merit were confirmed. Following his wins in the County Championship and County Strokeplay, City of Newcastle’s Andrew Minnikin topped the four-event points race, with clubmate Phil Ridden in second place. Cameron meanwhile finished third.
