Callaway launches Quantum Mini Spinner metalwoods

Callaway has launched the Quantum Mini Spinner – a new top-of-the-bag solution designed for golfers who need more spin, control and confidence when attacking greens from distance.

Engineered with a compact, deep profile and optimised for higher spin, the Quantum Mini Spinner lineup (RRP £359) is designed to bridge the gap between woods and irons.

“We really feel like we’ve created a new category here with a product that’s going to solve a problem for a wide range of players,” said Jacob Davidson, Callaway’s vice-president of global product strategy. “We refer to the Quantum Mini Spinner as the scoring wood. It’s a new option in the top of the bag for players who want the launch of a high lofted fairway wood, a steeper descent angle and more spin for greater stopping power.”

The new Quantum Mini Spinner – available in 7W, 9W and 11W configurations – features a high centre of gravity paired with an Ai-optimised high-spin face design. It has a playing length that is 0.75ins shorter than a traditional fairway wood, while the taller face profile provides added versatility.

Refined specifically for the Mini Spinner, the Step Sole minimises turf interaction to promote cleaner strikes, while in the 7W and 9W models a lightweight carbon sole allows mass to be repositioned higher in the head to raise the centre of gravity and generate increased spin.

“We wanted something that was a little bit more repeatable, a little bit more consistent,” said Evan Gibbs, senior R&D director for woods at Callaway. “The way that this club sets up with a shorter length, it’s more approachable. Impact locations are going to be a lot more consistent; players are going to tend to hit a little bit more down on it and feel that they can do that with a deeper face. The big performance difference is going to be the increased spin rate, which is going to provide more consistency and less roll out when it lands on the green.”
