Mark Booth lifted the Leeds Senior Masters title at Leeds Golf Centre with a narrow victory over Andrew Oldcorn.
Playing in the new 36-hole event as part of the Senior Masters Tour Booth, from Delapre Golf Club in Northampton, shot a closing round of 68 to finish eight under-par, one shot clear of Oldcorn as Peter Baker and Paul Streeter finished in a tie for third place on six under-par.
The win was Booth’s second this season having defended the Bedford Senior Open earlier this year.
The Senior Masters Tour hosts regular tournaments for golf professionals and Leeds Golf Centre welcomed more than 65 pros for the tour’s first event in Yorkshire.
Nigel Sweet, operations manager at Leeds Golf Centre, said; “Our congratulations to Mark for his well-deserved victory. Two rounds of 68 is tough to beat and despite the best efforts of Andrew and the chasing pack, Mark did enough to get the win.
“It’s been a brilliant week and the response from the professionals to our first event at Leeds Golf Centre has been incredible, I can’t thank them enough for coming.”
