Bedale Golf Club has joined the growing list of clubs across England which have been awarded Junior Hub status.
The Junior Hub award has been developed by England Golf and the Golf Foundation with the goal of identifying and showcasing clubs that are the right place for juniors to try, learn and love golf.
Steve Pearce, head professional at Bedale Golf Club, said “We are delighted to achieve the Junior Hub award. We’ve worked hard with the support of the club to grow and develop our junior section, so it’s great to be recognised by England Golf as a club committed to junior golf. It’s rewarding to watch the journey – from their initial visit to the club to achieving their first handicaps, winning competitions and some even going on to represent the Harrogate and Yorkshire unions, and even England.”
Bedale joins Calverley, Halifax West End, Scarborough South Cliff, Whitby and Woolley Park on the list of Yorkshire clubs to have achieved the award.
In Northumberland, Bedlingtonshire, Goswick and Ponteland golf clubs have achieved the status, as have Dunnerholme and Penrith golf clubs in Cumbria.
