Rockliffe Hall has picked up three more national awards as Slaley Hall picked up two prizes at The 59club’s Excellence Awards.
The annual event took place at The Grove in Hertfordshire and Rockliffe was shortlisted for seven awards alongside other big hitters including The Belfry, Celtic Manor, Emirates, Gleneagles and Trump International Dubai.
The team from the Hurworth course was delighted when head greenkeeper Jon Wyer won Greenkeeper of the Year, director of golf Jon Stacey picked up the Golf Manager of the Year award and the course was also handed the coveted Gold Flag Resort 2018 Award.
Meanwhile, Slaley Hall enjoyed two successes in 59club’s customer service awards.
The resort near Hexham won a bronze flag for its consistent performance through 2017 while Graham Auld, a member of the venue’s golf sales team, was rewarded for his competence and customer-friendly approach with the award for leading individual golf sales performance.
Eamonn Elliott, chief executive of Rockliffe Hall, said: “It was another successful night for the Rockliffe golf team, who won two awards at the same event last year.
“To win awards together like this is a fantastic achievement, not least because Rockliffe hasn’t even been open 10 years yet while many of our competitors have been around for decades.”
Jonny Mould, head of golf at Slaley Hall, said: “We are very proud of the team for claiming both of these awards as excelling in customer service right across the board is one of our prime objectives.”
