James Wallace has launched his pro shop at Catterick Golf Club following the retirement of Tim Jenkins.
James, who had worked for Tim for eight years having done his PGA training at Catterick from 2012 before moving to Castle Eden Golf Club and then back to Catterick in 2020, took on the pro shop under the new James Wallace Golf banner in late-2023 and has hit the ground running with the development of the new business.
“I’m delighted to have the new venture underway at Catterick, and I’m looking forward to a busy season,” said James.
“Having the opportunity to work for Tim for eight years, and learn from someone with such a long and successful career in the golf industry, has set me up perfectly. I still speak to Tim regularly and ask him for advice, which is a fantastic resource to have at the end of the phone.”
James and assistant professional Richard Mains will be continuing to offer a full professional service to Catterick members and guests, with a full programme of coaching in place along with a custom fitting service with golf’s biggest brands.
“There’s a lot to learn when you go out on your own, and I can’t thank my wife Kellie enough for her support on all of this. We’re all set and in a good place going into the spring,” added James. “Our goal is to continue to offer a great service to everyone who visits the golf club, whether they want to work on their game or find the equipment which will help them reach the next level.
