Former PGA Cup player Alex Wrigley had to settle for third place in the AESGC International Pro Am at Al Ain in the UAE.
The Hartlepool golfer – who has won the event once and finished second four times – was right in the mix with a third round 65, which followed a pair of 69s. However, he couldn’t reproduce the form which saw him grab seven birdies on day three as he posted a final round 68 to finish on nine under-par.
That saw him finish in a tie for third place for the second year in a row as Graeme Bell finished in 13th place and Christoph Guenther won the title with a 13 under-par total.
