Aim high – Pitch perfect

Many players struggle to find consistency when pitching – those shots from around 30-60 yards when a full swing is not required. This can have a huge effect on your ability to recover to save pars and take advantage of short par fours and par fives.

The biggest mistake with these shots is to fail to commit – making striking the ball correctly difficult and causing problems with distance control.

Instead of aiming at the bottom of the flag when playing these shots try setting your landing area at the top of the flag. This will help you be positive through impact, creating a better strike with more spin – and better distance control.
