Members of Whitburn Golf Club handed over a cheque for more than £6,000 to local charity Cancer Connections after a major fund-raising drive at the club.
As part of the fundraising effort by members at Whitburn, The Barbour Foundation contributed £2,000 – boosting the total raised to £6,100.45.
“This is the third time Whitburn Golf Club has held events in aid of Cancer Connections and the support for the local community is immeasurable,” said Deborah Roberts of Cancer Connections.
“A big thank you to chairman Jim Simpson, Stuart McGibbon and all the amazing supporters at Whitburn, and to The Barbour Foundation – which is absolutely amazing with its continued support for Cancer Connections.”
Whitburn chairman Jim Simpson added: “It is very important to the club to support Cancer Connections – we have got many members who have lost their loved ones to cancer in the past.”
