Englishman Tyrell Hatton hit top form as the European Tour made its turn towards the end of the year. Two top-10 finishes at the Omega European Masters and British Masters at Close House were followed by two wins in as many weeks in October – defending the Alfred Dunhill Links title in Scotland before winning the Italian Open at Golf Club Milano. Following a tie for 11th place in the WGC HSBC Champions in China the 26-year-old rose to 17th in the Official World Golf Ranking and to fifth in the Race to Dubai.
