Teesside Alliance supports Teesside Union Boys’ team for second year

The Teesside Alliance has presented a cheque for £1,000 to the Teesside Union Boys’ team to support the elite squad’s development and training.

For the second year in a row, the donation will support coaching and practice sessions – with the boys working with James Maw at Seaton Carew and Mike Pilgrim at Teesside.

Meanwhile, the boys got their season underway with a match against the Sheffield union. Sheffield won a tight tie 21-15 and team manager Lee Norman said: “Unfortunately we were on the wrong side of the scoreline, but there were a lot of tight games and at the end it could have gone either way. The golf standard was very good in challenging conditions. This is the closest score in recent years and we’ll be back again to try and get the win next year.”
