Seaton Carew has been named one of the top-100 golf courses in Great Britain & Ireland for the first time in more than two decades.
The ranking, compiled by National Club Golfer magazine, places Seaton Carew in the company of some of the most historic courses in Great Britain & Ireland.
“This is a tremendous achievement for Seaton Carew Golf Club,” said club secretary Roy Leonard. “Over the past four years, the course, which was originally designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie in 1926, has undergone a massive transformation. Working alongside renowned course architect Tom MacKenzie, of MacKenzie & Ebert, many of the bunkers have been rebuilt in the distinctive rugged style of the great man himself.”
Home to England’s 10th oldest golf course, the club is celebrating its 150th anniversary throughout 2024 – and hosted the English Amateur Championship for the first time this summer.
