Whitburn’s Gary Russell shot a nett score of 72 to win the Durham County Golf Union’s Third Division Championship at Chester-le-Street.
His score was just one stroke better than Seaham’s Daniel Ford, who finished alone in second place. Gary (pictured) was presented with the trophy by Chester-le-Street chairman Dave Wilkinson.
Meanwhile, the county’s Fourth Division Championship was a very close-run affair – with Houghton-le-Spring’s Andrew Kelly pipping Seaham’s David Hickey to the title on countback after both players shot rounds of 71 (nett).
