Rudding Park has announced a £1million investment in The Great Yorkshire Golf Adventure – a new adventure golf experience at the resort.
Opening on Yorkshire Day on Saturday August 1, the 18-hole layout celebrates Yorkshire’s history, culture and landmarks through playful storytelling and adventure golf.
Inspired by Yorkshire’s heritage, visitors will encounter famous figures from the Vikings to Guy Fawkes and historic landmarks and iconic locations including York Minster, Whitby, Theakston Brewery and the Yorkshire Dales.
Matthew Mackaness, joint managing director at Rudding Park, said: “We continue to evolve the business and have ambitious growth plans for Rudding over the coming years. Golf plays an important part in the Rudding Park experience and there is no doubt the sport is seeing its biggest cultural shift in years. We are responding to growing demand for more social, accessible and entertaining golf experiences. Hospitality remains at the heart of everything we do, so alongside the new experience we’ve also created a relaxed food and drink offering for residents, members and day visitors.”
The investment includes The Great Yorkshire Golf Adventure, the new food and drink space, enhancements to the Golf Academy, and the launch of the new Gimme Golf brand.
Marc Rice, head of golf at Rudding Park, added: “Rudding Park already offers one of the region’s most comprehensive golf destinations with championship golf, TrackMan technology, short-course play, PGA coaching, and custom fitting. Our vision is to welcome more people into the game while continuing to provide an outstanding experience for existing golfers. As part of the investment, the Golf Academy will be rebranded as Gimme Golf, reflecting a broader vision to make golf more accessible, sociable and appealing to new audiences.
“Gimme Golf is about bringing people together through great shared experiences. Whether it’s families enjoying adventure golf, friends competing on the TrackMan range, or people relaxing with food and drink on the terrace, golf becomes the reason to spend quality time together. We’re creating a destination that’s as much about hospitality as it is about the game.”
