Robinson joins Rockliffe

Simon Robinson has joined Rockliffe Hall as the resort’s new head of instruction.

Simon, 38, is a former European and World Boys Champion as well as a past winner on the EuroPro Tour and Challenge Tour.

He joins Rockliffe Hall from Sharpley Golf Club, where he built a reputation as a top instructor as well as developing ladies Get into Golf and Learn Golf in a Day programmes, plus junior coaching sessions.

Simon said: “I’m delighted to have joined the golf team at Rockliffe Hall. It’s a fabulous resort. The golf course and its facilities are exceptional.

“I’m looking forward to offering lots of programmes, as well as private lessons for members and guests visiting Rockliffe Hall.”

Simon is the current Durham County Golf Union captain, a role he took on earlier this year having coached the side.

A graduate of the University of Houston, he played in the winning Palmer Cup team in 2000 before turning professional in 2004. In his first year as a pro he won three times on the EuroPro Tour. Graduating to the Challenge Tour, he won the SK Challenge in Finland before competing on the European Tour in 2009 and 2010.
