Ramside Golf Club is aiming to produce the North East’s next top golfer after awarding its Michael Adamson Junior Golf Scholarships to four youngsters.
Tilly Barton (Hobson Golf Club), Emily Baxter (Houghton-Le-Spring Golf Club), Adam Charlton (Ramside Golf Club) and Lewis Reay (Ramside Golf Club) will receive one years’ free membership; use of Ramside’s two championship courses, golf academy and driving range; plus tuition with Ramside’s team of expert coaches.
They were chosen from more than 50 applicants after impressing PGA professional and lead coach Kevin Jackson during a skills test, playing assessment and interview.
Ramside founded its Michael Adamson Junior Golf Scholarship in 2015, in honour of late company chairman Michael Adamson MBE, and is keen to support the development of junior golf in North East England. Helen Roseberry, Ramside director of golf, said: “This scholarship is named in honour of my father Michael, who passionately believed in providing opportunity for deserving people in all areas of Ramside Estates’ business.
“He also loved golf, which is why we want to provide talented young golfers with a springboard to achieve great things in a sport which brings so much pleasure to so many people.”
