City of Newcastle’s Phil Ridden picked up the Newcastle & District Golf League’s Players Championship trophy at Blyth Golf Club.
Phil topped the leaderboard with a five under-par round of 65 and led the City of Newcastle team – including Andrew Minnikin (73) and Zak Laws (78) – to the team title.
Meanwhile, Prudhoe’s Ben Lloyd finished second, with Gosforth’s Harry Carr in third place. Tynemouth finished second in the team event, beating Prudhoe by just one shot in the three-man team event.
