Callum Tarren and Matthew Webb returned from the China Tour to win three NE/NW PGA pro ams within six days.
Tarren won back-to-back pro ams at Bamburgh Castle and Goswick with a combined 14 under-par total. At Bamburgh, he shot a super round of 62 to beat Mark Ridley by one shot while at Goswick his round of 64 was enough to pip Webb by one.
Webb, who found form in China with a tied-fourth finish in the Yulongwan Yunnan Open and a tied-10th finish at the CGD Yunnan Championship in August, led the field at Hexham Golf Club’s pro am with a sensational round of 65 – four shots clear of the chasing pack.
Darren Crowle, Stephen Kyle, Luke Searle and Philip Waugh shared second place with rounds of 69.
Meanwhile, Simon Calvert and Stephen Kyle shared the top prize at the Whitley Bay Pro Am with rounds of 68. Tarren shared third place with Graeme Bell.
The NE/NW PGA season continues with the Tour Championship at Matfen Hall, the conclusion of the Matchplay Championship and pro ams at Bellingham, Rockliffe Hall and more.
