Offstone Publishing, which owns Northern Golfer magazine, has taken over the publishing of Yorkshire Golfer – expanding the area covered by its golf titles to Sheffield and beyond.
Northumberland-based Offstone, which is owned by publisher Gary Ramsay, will operate Yorkshire Golfer from its March/April edition – with Northern Golfer editor Dean Bailey leading the team. Former Yorkshire Golfer editor Danny Lockwood will be part of the editorial team, continuing to produce course profiles and travel features, while Sandra Kirton will continue as advertising manager.
“Being approached to take Yorkshire Golfer into the 2025 season and beyond was a fantastic opportunity, and we’re delighted to bring such a respected title under the Offstone umbrella,” said Gary.
“Continuing to work with Sandra and Danny will ensure continuity for the clubs which work with the publication at present, while bolstering the team with Dean and Northern Golfer advertising manager Gillian Corney will open up new avenues in terms of editorial and advertising across the print and digital spaces, which we’re very excited about.”
As part of the acquisition, the two print titles will continue to operate separately – with each continuing their bi-monthly publication schedule. Online, Yorkshire golfers and clubs will benefit from more avenues to share their stories with readers across the website, social media, and weekly emails.
“Expanding our golf portfolio into a new region is incredibly exciting,” said Dean. “While our team has covered golf in areas of Yorkshire for more than a decade, we’re looking forward to growing that reach and enhancing what Yorkshire Golfer offers to its readers and partners in print and online.

In the coming weeks, dedicated Yorkshire Golfer content – along with recent editions of the publication – will be added to www.northerngolfer.co.uk. The Northern Golfer Weekly email will also grow to cover more Yorkshire news every Friday morning – giving golfers one go-to place for online golf coverage from the North East, Yorkshire and beyond.
